* Stephen Kings eigene Webseite berichtete am 18. Mai [[2014]] zum ersten Mal vom Projekt. So soll Mike Flanagan die Regie bei der Verfilmung übernehmen. Zusammen mit Jeff Howard hatte er das Drehbuch bereits verfasst. Produziert wird der Film von Trevor Macy und Intrepid Pictures.* Zum Start der DVD von ''Oculus'' äußerte sich Flanagan über das Projekt. So wollte er den Roman bereits seit 10 Jahren verfilmen. Erst sein Erfolg mit ''Oculus'' mache die Umsetzung des komplexen Stoffes möglich.
